Fair Oaks Frogs

Fair Oaks on the Magothy is proud to host the Fair Oaks Frogs, a summer swim team for ages 4 - 18.  Whether your child is a beginning swimmer, an expert swimmer, or anywhere in between, join us for summer fun, athletic exercise, and valuable lessons in teamwork.

Swim team lasts for approximately 8 weeks/6 days a week/10 hours a week, honing & exhibiting swimming skills. The season is comprised of seven competitive dual meets and three Medal Meets.  Medal meets are optional and a swimmer will only qualify for one of the three.  The swim team also celebrates during the season with pep rallies, a pancake breakfast and an end of the season banquet in which we recognize all swimmers.

Is your young potential-Frog nervous about joining the team?  No worries!  We offer a trial period in which they can participate in practice and get a taste of what swim team is like.  In addition, our Tadpole program pairs them with an older Frog who will offer guidance, support and help cheer them on throughout the summer.  Before you know it, your little Tadpole will be a full-fledge Frog who is looking forward to having a Tadpole of their own.  More information about the tadpole program is listed under the "About" tab.

Our team is powered by the volunteers who help plan and run meets, sell concessions, and provide timing and lane judging expertise. No prior experience is required for any of our volunteer jobs, although a few jobs do require additional training provided by the league.  Positions range from set-up/clean-up, lane timer, recorder, referee, stroke and turn judge, starter, computer ops, awards and concessions.
